How much space do you need?

5m x 3m (for 5/6 piece bands, full band requires slightly more)

How is it best to time things?

We find two one-hour sets, 8:30 – 9:30 and then 10:30 – 11:30 works best, however we are happy to fit in around your event.

Can I pick the bands playlist?

We are open to suggestions and will try to accommodate any ‘must do’ or ‘must not do’ songs to the best of our ability. However, we have a lot of experience keeping audiences happy and so we ask that the final playlist be left to our discretion.

Where will you travel to?

Literally anywhere. There are no restrictions on the distance we’ll travel. Our travel expenses will be included in the final fee, thus the further we have to drive (from London) the greater the cost. For very long distance gigs accommodation will need to be provided.

Can I see you play live?

Clients are welcome to come and watch any public gigs we have. Alternately videos of the band playing live are available on this page.

Will you learn our special song?

Yes, we allow each client to request one song that is not already in our repertoire.

Is the video on your website a true reflection of the band?

Yes, the audio and video is an accurate reflection of the band.

How do I book you?

Our agent’s details are listed on the right boarder of this website under our calendar ( over there >>> ). Please get in contact with one of Alive Network's helpful, friendly agents to make a booking enquiry.

Are you able to DJ in between sets?

Yes we offer a full DJ package.

Can we make DJ requests in advance to my event?

Yes, our DJ is happy to take requests. Any requests made in advance of the gig can definitely be included in the DJ set. We will also endeavour to play as many ‘on-the-night’ requests as possible.

Can we use your sound system for speeches?

Yes, provided you use it safely, within our guidelines.

What equipment do you use?

Our main PA is HK PR:O 15A x2 (tops) & HK PR:O 18A x2 (subs) total = 4000W (4k)

We also can use our quieter Behringer Eurolive D 1200W PA for noise limiter gigs.

X32 digital mixing console (with wireless iPad capability).

We have only top of the range backline equipment including: Nord Stage 2 keyboard; a Moog ‘Little Phatty’ analogue synth; Fender custom shop guitar; PV Fury bass; Novation BassStation2 bass synth; a pearl masters drum kit and a full in-ear monitoring system. 

Do you have lights?

4 x ADJ sound activated colour changing spots, 10 x Stagg Headbanger, 2 x moving head lights.

How long do you play for?

Our standard service includes 2 one-hour sets (with the possibility of an additional 2 hours of DJ and and/or a 1 hour jazz set).

What time do you start and finish?

Our standard arrival and cut off times are 6pm and 12pm respectively. We can accommodate earlier and later gigs for an additional fee.

How long do you take to set up?

Roughly 1 hour.

Can I provisionally book you?

Unfortunately, we don’t take provisional bookings as our demand is such that we would be turning clients away on popular dates. However, when you make an official enquiry with us, your enquiry will be logged in our system and you will be given first refusal on your date should anybody else enquire for the same date.

What if the band split up before my event?

In the event of a split the band are contractually obliged to honour all outstanding bookings.

Can my sisters/bosses/daughters dog sing with your band?

Arrangements can be made in advance for guests to sing with us. We will do our best to accommodate your wishes.

What will the band wear?

Normally we dress in suits and shirts but we can adapt our dress to suit your event (within reason)!

Does the band have PAT and PLI certificates?

Yes, both are available on request.

Why should I book The Hot Keys?

You should book The Hot Keys because we are one of the most unique and dynamic function bands playing in the UK right now. We are comprised of some of the best musicians London has to offer and can tailor our performance to suit any event.

How much does it cost to book the band?

Our fees are worked out on a client-by-client basis. Our starting price is £1235 for local gigs, but we find most bookings average around £1325. Please note that any additional instruments, sets and DJ services will increase the cost.

Do The Hot Keys have any specific requirements?

We ask that the client provide us with some form of food/refershments as normally we do not have time to eat dinner when on a gig.

How loud will the band be?

The band can be quite loud, however we aim to keep the noise at a safe volume for everyone on the dance floor. Noise levels will also depend on the size of the room and the amount of reverb. We can play in noise-limited venues but we recommend clients discuss this with our agent first.

What is the band power requirement?

We require minimum 4 mains plug sockets in order to run all our equipment safely.

Do The Hot Keys offer any additional services?

Yes, we offer additional jazz sets, Dj services, brass players, a female singer and a percussionist.
